Alan is committed to advancing financial planning as a trusted profession. After roles in paraplanning and compliance, he founded Unburdened Solutions in 2019 to spread knowledge, ideas and know-how that changes financial planning for the better. A strong advocate of lifelong learning, he is a Chartered Member of the CISI, a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. He holds an MSc in Financial Planning and specialist qualifications in investment management, impact investing and green finance. Awarded a PhD in 2025, his research explores how framing influences decision-making in impact investing. He is passionate about sustainable and responsible investing, championing values-based financial planning as a force for good.
