David is Managing Director, Global Private Markets, responsible for building our our private markets business at Ninety One. Prior to this David was Managing Director of the UK Client Group at Investec Asset Management, responsible for retail and institutional business in the UK and Ireland. David initially joined Investec Asset Management as sales director for UK & Europe in 2000.
Prior to Investec Asset Management, David worked at Gartmore Asset Management with responsibility for capital raising for their hedge fund business. Previously, David was head of institutional pooled sales in the UK and offshore areas for Fleming Investment Management.
David started his career as a Chartered Accountant after graduating from Nottingham City University with a degree in Accounting and Finance.
Wendy Appleton joined Pictet in 2008 as Head of Strategic Partnership Sales. She was appointed Head of Sales - UK & Ireland in October 2016 covering the UK Wholesale and Retail markets.
Prior to Pictet she was Head of 3rd Party at Henderson Global Investors for three years. From 1996 to 2005 she was an Account Manager at National Provident Institution and then at Norwich Union. She started her career in 1994 at Sterling Asset Management.
Jemma Joined WisdomTree as Associate Director in September 2018 to cover UK Wealth Management clients. Prior to WisdomTree, Jemma worked for Jupiter Asset Management, initially as part of the Private Clients team before moving to distribution in 2014 where she was responsible for clients in the Channel Islands. Jemma graduated with a 1st Class BSc (Hons) degree in Physics and Mathematics from Loughborough University in 2011 and is currently studying for part two of the CAIA qualification.
Annabel Brodie-Smith is Communications Director at the Association of Investment Companies (AIC). Her role is varied but chiefly focuses on communicating the uses and features of investment companies to the media, opinion formers, advisers and private investors. Annabel heads up the AIC's training and information programme for advisers and wealth managers. This aims to increase awareness and understanding of investment companies through seminars, conferences and online training tools.
Prior to joining the AIC Annabel worked at Hill & Knowlton, the PR Agency, where her work included working on the winning Athens 2004 Olympic bid, before joining the AIC in November 1997. After obtaining a B.A in Geography from LSE/King's College, and an M.A from Syracuse University in New York, Annabel went on to obtain a postgraduate diploma in public and media relations from the University of Wales.
Originally from Lancashire, Matt was the first in his family to go to university and holds a BA honours degree in Medieval and Modern History from the University of Birmingham. Matt founded LGBT Great in 2017 with the vision to create a global investment and savings industry which supports and promotes LGBT+ talent and society. Since inception LGBT Great has kick started LGBT+ inclusion within the sector and has developed into a specialist membership organisation. His team creates and delivers innovative education, visibility and outreach programmes and has also developed a technology tool called the Investment Industry Benchmark Tracker, known as the iiBT. This helps firms to track and measure LGBT+ organisational inclusion maturity. Matt is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Ocean Partnership, a firm which specialises in helping firms to understand, attract and engage diverse talent. In 2017 he also became an active ambassador of the Diversity Project and sits on the group's Steering Committee.
Colette joined LGIM in 2018 from M&G Investments where she spent nearly a decade working to create and maintain a balanced workforce. During her tenure, she helped grow and implement M&G's Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) strategy addressing gender, ethnicity, nationality, LGBT, cultural diversity, social backgrounds and mental health/wellbeing. During her career, she also held senior roles in employer brand, talent attraction and retention, delivering innovative solutions to ensure a diverse candidate pipeline.
Colette is responsible for driving the evolution and continuous improvement of LGIM's culture, as well as LGIM's diversity and inclusion objectives. Colette works closely with the executive team, LGIM's diversity and inclusion team (LEGIT), and Legal & General's Group Diversity and Inclusion team.

Louise is a partner at Camarco, a firm she founded with three others in 2014. She has over 25 years' of media and communications experience specialising in asset management, pensions and wealth management. She started her career working in-house at a specialist pension firm before moving into agency life and has never looked back. She has developed a network of top tier business and financial contacts, running critically acclaimed campaigns and on-going public relations programmes for a wide range of clients. Louise is exceptionally passionate about the financial services sector and believes in nurturing talented individuals. She runs an informal mentoring programme for those looking to come into the sector as well as those looking to develop their careers.
Nambia is an experienced marketing and client engagement professional with over 20 years’ marketing experience of which 16 have been in financial services. Most recently she was Head of UK Channel Marketing at Legg Mason where she was responsible for developing and leading the marketing strategy and delivering tactical and strategic marketing initiatives for the distribution function across the UK. She was also responsible for driving the client experience in the Nordics region. Nambia holds a BSc (Hons) Degree in Biology from University College London.
Liz joined PIMFA, formerly the Wealth Management Association (WMA), as Chief Executive in 2014.
She has 30 years financial services experience, 20 of which as a successful Chief Executive. She successfully transformed and advised several businesses through redefining strategy, rebranding, change management and inspirational leadership, creating profitable businesses.
She has substantive experience of people and cultural risk, regulatory knowhow across the industry - banking, insurance and wealth management and providing the best practice guidelines for the industry to adopt to manage risk.
She is an accredited coach and industry leader encouraging collaborative participation of diverse groups of industry experts to address sector challenges and to leverage industry resources.
Liz holds a degree in Psychology and a Masters in Occupational Psychology from Birkbeck.
Charlotte is Global Head of Client Management at Investec Asset Management responsible for driving the client experience and helping to define and co-ordinate the Client Management agenda globally across advisor and institutional. She is also UK Business Director, driving the strategy for the UK and looking after key strategic clients.
She joined 2011, having previously worked at J.P. Morgan Asset Management from 2004-2011 as Head of Business Strategy for the UK business and before that as Head of European marketing.
Prior to this, Charlotte worked in advertising at McCann Erickson Worldwide as Head of McCann Financial Europe. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Bristol University.
Will is chief executive of the CFA Society of the UK (CFA UK). CFA UK represents the interests of more than 12,000 members of the UK investment profession. The society is one of the largest member societies of CFA Institute and is committed to leading the development of the investment profession through the promotion of the highest ethical and technical standards. Will leads much of the society's advocacy and engagement work and authored its 2016 report on the 'Value of the Investment Profession'. He has contributed to the development of CFA UK's Gender Diversity Partner Programme, is a member of the Diversity Project's steering committee and is currently involved in work to provide advice to government on the development of the social impact investment market. Will joined the society in December 2006 from Euromoney Institutional Investor plc. He is an affiliate member of CFA Institute and CFA UK.
Jane is Group Corporate Affairs Director for Quilter plc, one of the UK’s leading providers of financial advice, investment and wealth management. She is an experienced financial services professional, with a specialism in sustainable and responsible investment, gathered through roles in institutional asset management, fund manager research, investment consulting and wealth management. At Quilter since 2015 Jane has a broad corporate affairs remit encompassing external communications, public affairs, responsible business and responsible investment, and wider stakeholder engagement. Prior to Quilter Jane created and lead the Sustainable and Responsible Investment consulting and manager research practice for Willis Towers Watson. Previous roles included Strategic Adviser to the CIO of HSBC Global Asset Management and Senior Responsible Investment Analyst at Janus Henderson. Jane is a keen advocate of inclusion, diversity, financial education and responsible investment. She is a Non-executive Director of TISA, Co-Chair of KickStart Money and Trustee of the Quilter Foundation. Jane holds a BSc (Hons) Environmental Sciences and MSc Environmental Technology and Management, Imperial College, and the CFA UK Level 4 Certificate in Investment Management. Jane won the ‘Leadership Advocate’ award and was named overall ‘Women of the Year’ at the 2018 Women in Finance Awards.
Mandy joined City Hive in August 2018. City Hive strive for change in the asset management industry, we advocate for diversity, support with our network and provide the means for investment to meet its potential.
As Director of Reporting, Assessment and Accountability at PRI, Mandy ensures that institutional investors in more than 50 countries are able to effectively disclose their incorporation of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors in their investment beliefs, strategy and decision making. She has designed and implemented an innovative framework for service providers to report their ESG approach.
Mandy liaises with global reporting and standard-setting bodies to support reform and improve the quality of transparency and disclosure. Previously, as Associate Director at the Maplecroft consultancy, she led research projects for clients in developed and emerging markets, advising on risk management and sustainability issues. She supports a number of London community and charitable initiatives.
Meena is a Partner and Head of Alternatives at LGT Vestra. She is a key member of the Investment Committee and product selection committees, as well as advising the Institutional team. Meena has had a 20 year career in financial services at firms including Russell, GLG & Atlas Capital. She has a PhD in Operations Research.
Justin is a fund manager and Head of Retail Multi-Asset Funds at Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM). He is a CFA Charterholder sitting within a wider investment team that manages over £50 billion for pension funds and savers across the world.
Throughout his career Justin has been active in joining and contributing to diversity and inclusion initiatives at the companies in which he has worked. He currently co-chairs Legal & General Inclusion Team (LEGIT) for LGIM, which has contributed to making change in five key areas within the investment area: recruitment and retention (including mentoring), culture/cognitive diversity, agile working, barriers to diversity and inclusion and understanding the business risks stemming from a lack of diversity. He is also a member of the diversity and inclusion team at group level (L&G) and an adviser to the board of City Hive Ltd, which focuses on driving diversity initiatives throughout the asset management industry. City Hive Ltd focuses on all types of diversity, including gender and ethnicity. Finally, Justin plays an integral part in the movement #talkaboutblack, which is dedicated to discussing the issues affecting today's people of colour.

In 2013, Linda founded a marketing company specialising in marketing services for the investment industry. Working with Investment consultants, investment managers, independent trustees and other clients to achieve their business growth objectives.
Linda is the marketing lead and is on the Steering Committee for the Diversity Project, an initiative that accelerates progress towards an inclusive culture and achieve diversity across the investment profession. Last year she was appointed a Trustee for the Diversity Project Charity.
Linda was Global Head of Marketing for Mercer Investments, and worked at Mercer for 13 years having worked her way up from starting as a website temp.
She obtained her International Baccalaureate at a co-ed international school in Hilversum in the Netherlands before studying Economics and Law at Durham University, and is the first person in her immediate family to attend university.
Bhavini ‘Bev' Shah, is the Founder and CEO of City Hive, the only professional network dedicated to uniting, supporting and championing women at all levels of asset and investment management. Prior to setting up City Hive she clocked up over fifteen years' in the City at some of the world's largest financial institutions - Aviva, Aviva Investors, Merchant Securities (now part of San Lam UK), HSBC, Bear Stearns & Lehman Brothers. She has extensive multi-asset multi-manager investment and governance experience as a portfolio manager and research analyst with a 360-degree understanding off the industry having held positions on both sides of the fence (platform, asset manager and private client investment manager). She holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Accountancy from City University (CASS) and is an Advisory Board Member of the Association of Professional Fund Investors (APFI). As a British-Indian dyslexic woman, Bev's strength is diversity.
Karis Stander is the Managing Director of Investment20/20, an entry-level talent services for the investment management industry with a specific focus on increasing diversity and widening access for young people. Karis joined Investment20/20 in 2014 and under her leadership it is now a multi-award winning organisation that has enabled more than 1,500 trainees to enter the industry through over 45 partner firms. Karis has led a dedicated programme of grassroots outreach to over 3,700 schools, colleges and universities, aimed at developing the industry's long-term talent pipeline by raising awareness of the opportunities it can offer to graduates and school leavers and sign posting them to trainee programmes.
Andrew is responsible for the team that covers collectives research, incorporating the firm's UK and international businesses. He is also involved in asset allocation and portfolio management for a number of Investec Wealth & Investment's business units.
After graduating from Oxford University, Andrew spent nine years at Goldman Sachs, latterly in the firm's offshore fund product development team. He joined Investec in 2006 as a product specialist before becoming Head of Fund Research in 2007.

Selina joined Mirabaud Asset Management in November 2018 as Head of UK Wholesale. She leads the firm's coverage of wealth managers, fund of funds and financial institutions in the UK and Ireland. Prior to joining Mirabaud, she was Director - UK Wholesale for Hermes Investment Management, for six years, and also worked at Man GLG for five years through 2012, covering Global Banking relationships. Selina has over 15 years of experience within financial services, fulfilling client service, relationship management and sales roles. She is a holder of the Investment Management Certificate and is a winner of the WeAreTheCity Rising Star Award in Sales in 2017.
Ozge Usta is the Global Head of Client Propositions & Client Experience at HSBC Global Asset Management. She is responsible for proposition development and delivery, as well as product marketing globally, for all asset classes and all client groups. With over 18 years of banking experience, Ozge has held a number of positions, predominantly across Asset Management and Retail banking in both emerging and developed markets. Ozge started her career as a graduate trainee at Denizbank (a Turkish commercial bank) in Istanbul, looking after Financial Institutions relationships, covering Southern Europe. In 2002, she moved to HSBC Turkey in the wealth management propositions team. Ozge moved to HSBC Global Asset Management in London in 2006, taking a global leadership role in 2013.
Stuart is the Global Head of Strategy for HSBC Global Asset Management, the c. USD510 billion asset manager of the HSBC Group, responsible for its strategy, M&A and corporate management activities. Stuart reports to the Global CEO, Nicolas Moreau, and is a member of the Global Leadership team and the Global Risk Management Committee. Stuart is also the accountable executive for the HSBC Global Asset Management Diversity & Inclusion programme.
Stuart is the Chief Executive Officer and Board Director of the c. USD110 billion UK business and businesses in Bermuda, Turkey & Malta and has oversight responsibility for the Saudi Arabia asset management business. He is also a Board Director of Hang Seng Investment Management Limited businesses.
Stuart is also a Board member and Trustee Director of the c£35 billion HSBC Bank Pension Trust (UK) Limited, which is responsible for the HSBC UK Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution schemes. Stuart sits on the Investment Committee and is a member of the ESG Steering group.
Stuart has been with HSBC since 2010 and was previously the Head of Strategy and prior to that Head of Institutional, UK, responsible for the business development and consultant relations teams, covering, pension, public sector, insurance and treasury client segments. Prior to joining HSBC, he worked at Insight Investment for 5 years and was responsible for their international institutional business covering clients in over 20 countries. Stuart started his investment management career at Threadneedle Asset Management in the 1990's covering a variety of roles including distribution, strategy and as a fixed income analyst.
Stuart graduated with a BSc honours degree in Chemistry and European Studies (German) from the University of Sussex and the University of Freiburg. He also has an MBA from London Business School, holds the Investment Management Certificate, Award in Pension Trusteeship. Stuart is also a member of the UK Investment Association's DC Committee.
