Presentation Synopsis:
Short-duration preferreds: Strategic and consistent income
Short duration preferreds offer a compelling fixed income profile, combining elevated and stable income with investment grade credit quality and lower duration risk. By focusing on the front end of the curve, the asset class prioritises income through carry while limiting sensitivity to interest rate movements, historically capturing the majority of category returns with materially lower volatility. This session will examine why issuers continue to tap the subordinated debt market and how these instruments can help investors deliver consistent performance across interest rate and credit cycles. Attendees will gain insight into how short duration preferreds can complement traditional fixed income allocations by enhancing portfolio yield and diversification.
