Luke is head of Fundamental Equity Client Portfolio Management in EMEA for Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM). He coordinates the strategy, business expansion and client communication efforts for the Fundamental Equity business across the region. Luke is also a senior client portfolio manager, advising GSAM’s clients on their strategic asset allocation and equity investment decision-making process, particularly related to gaining appropriate access to emerging markets and other long term secular growth themes. He helps lead Fundamental Equity’s thematic, impact oriented and environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) investment efforts, including co-leading the launch of Fundamental Equity’s initial offerings in the space. Luke joined Goldman Sachs as an analyst in 2009 and was named managing director in 2019. Luke earned a first-class BA (Hons) in Economics and Management from Exeter College, University of Oxford in 2008 and was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2013.
Through his tenure at Newton, Jon has led both the Global Equity and Multi-Asset teams and been responsible for a number of multi-asset and global equity portfolios. As well as his extensive investment roles at the firm, he has also spent time as a member of the commercial team involved in discussing client portfolios and tailoring strategies to client requirements. He sits on Newton’s investment oversight and product and commercial committees and its investment risk oversight groups. He joined the Newton equity income team in March 2020, where he will focus on both core and sustainable global equity income strategies.
Jon joined Newton in 1995 and has a degree in natural sciences from Cambridge University.
Claudia Calich joined M&G in October 2013 as a specialist in emerging markets debt and has been fund manager of the M&G Emerging Markets Bond Fund since December 2013. She was also appointed fund manager of the M&G Global Government Bond Fund and deputy manager of the M&G Global Macro Bond Fund in July 2015. In May 2017, Claudia was appointed fund manager of the M&G (Lux) Emerging Markets Hard Currency Bond Fund at its launch, and in July 2019 she became deputy fund manager of the M&G (Lux) Emerging Markets Corporate ESG Bond Fund upon launch; both are Luxembourg-authorised funds. Claudia has more than 20 years of experience in emerging markets, most recently as a senior portfolio manager at Invesco in New York, with previous positions at Oppenheimer Funds, Fuji Bank, Standard & Poor’s and Reuters. Claudia graduated with a BA (Honours) in Economics from Susquehanna University in 1989 and holds an MA in International Economics from the International University of Japan in Niigata.
Charles de Quinsonas is an emerging market corporate bond specialist and has been working as co-fund manager and deputy fund manager for a series of emerging markets corporate bond funds domiciled in London and Luxembourg since 2015. He has more than a decade of emerging market corporate bond experience, with a deep knowledge of high yield credit. Prior to joining M&G in 2014, he worked at Spread Research in Lyon and New York, where he spent four years analysing a variety of high yield and emerging market industrial credits. Charles holds a B.B.A. from ESSEC Business School and a MSc in Corporate Finance from iaelyon School of Management.
Peter joined Sanlam in April 2020 and prior to Sanlam, was Chief Investment Officer at Tideway where he led the firm’s asset management team and led the portfolio management of Tideway’s in-house UCITS funds.
Born in Sheffield, Peter graduated from Oriel College, Oxford with a degree in Engineering and has extensive experience in the fixed income credit markets. During his career Peter has held senior positions at Goldman Sachs, Bear Stearns and Bank of America.
Clark is a Partner at RWC and manages the RWC Diversified Return Fund. Clark is the former co-CIO of Permal, a multi-manager alternative-investment firm. He joined Permal after its purchase, in 2013, of Fauchier Partners, where he had been the CEO. Previously, Clark worked at Morgan Stanley on the Equity Arbitrage desk, and previously managed the firm's hedge-fund lending risk within the Prime Brokerage division.
James co-manages the RWC Emerging & Frontier Markets strategies with John Malloy. He has been investing in these economies for over 20 years, along with several of the 18-strong team of analysts and economists that form the RWC Emerging & Frontier Markets team.
Raj is a portfolio specialist who supports Jennison’s distribution and client efforts across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He joined Jennison in 2019. Prior to Jennison, Raj spent 17 years with Newton Investment Management, where he began as head of European equities and then became a global equity portfolio manager and portfolio specialist. Previously, he spent five years with Credit Suisse Asset Management, most recently as head of European equities. He began his career in investment banking before moving to become an investment analyst and portfolio manager. Raj earned a BA with honors in economics and management from Leeds University.
Jeremy Smouha is Chairman of the Board of Atlanticomnium SA, an investment management firm specialising in corporate bonds, and Chief Executive Officer of its London branch. The firm has been managing the award winning GAM Star Credit Opportunities range of funds/strategies since 1985. Jeremy Smouha sits on the Investment Committee of GAM Star Credit Opportunities Funds and established Atlanticomnium (UK) Ltd in 2013 to provide investment and other support to Atlanticomnium SA from the UK. Jeremy was a founding member of GAM in 1983 and held various positions over the years including managing GAM bond funds from 1985 to 2002. He was a Director and member of GAM’s Investment Committee from 1998 to 2012 and co-managed a range of GAM’s multi asset funds. He continues to serve GAM as a senior adviser. Prior to GAM, he was a fund manager of Asian equities at Arbuthnot Latham. Jeremy Smouha was educated at Harrow School and holds an MA Cantab Hons in Economics from the University of Cambridge. He is based in London.
Roderick joined Baillie Gifford in 2006 and is an Investment Manager in the Emerging Markets Equity Team. He previously worked in the UK and European Equity Teams and has managed the Baillie Gifford Pacific Fund since 2010. Roderick graduated BSc (Hons) in Medical Biology from the University of Edinburgh in 2006.
