Can sustainable investing outperform when growth doesn’t?
Giles will discuss why we anticipate sustainable investing will continue to win increasing market share; why investors need to consider the impacts this will have on portfolios and the approach he takes to managing the risks and opportunities. In our view, more than ever, investors should consider building portfolios using broad themes rather than via the traditional sectoral and geographic asset allocation lenses and maintain a keen eye on stock selection as the core driver of returns.

Listed Infrastructure – why are we so positive?
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has highlighted an issue largely ignored by policymakers, regulators and capital markets in recent years – the security of energy supply. The solution to the problem is investment in energy infrastructure, including gas transportation and storage, LNG export, renewable generation, and electricity grids. This provides improving returns on existing assets as well as attractive growth opportunities for many infrastructure stocks. When combined with inflation linkage, low volatility, with other attractive long-term themes such as high-speed data infrastructure, and with a tailwind of growing interest from private equity, the result is a very positive outlook for the Premier Miton Global Infrastructure Income Fund.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
The pandemic made investors believe everything had changed, for companies and for investing style. Turns out, not much has changed, and the “old” proven ways of generating a total return, of finding a good investment, haven’t changed. Discipline was required, and as humans we have precious little of that! Compounding a dividend via quality companies continues to show that the tortoise is far from dead in this environment and is actually more appropriate than ever, and it doesn’t have to compromise on structural trends or new responsibilities. Nick will break down how the time tested strategy remains to be a consistent core performer.
Seilern Investment Management - Michael Faherty, Analyst & Portfolio Manager

Only the Best Will Do
We will discuss our investment philosophy and process, explaining why and how we build concentrated portfolios of quality growth businesses. The Seilern Universe, at the core of our investment process, represents the pool of companies that we invest in. We are extremely selective. Only 60 of the world’s listed equities currently fulfil our criteria. These exceptional businesses demonstrate superior growth prospects, sustainable competitive advantages, high ROIC, and strong balance sheets. What role can quality growth play in clients’ portfolios and when does the strategy perform?
